Environment Conservation-Ground water recharge

In India ground water table is falling year by year in most of the districts as brought out in "Dynamic Ground Water Resources of India" by Central Ground Water Board of Ministry of Jal Shakti. The ground water utilisation in irrigation is to the extent of 80 to 90% of toal ground water extraction which is also on increase over the years. To overcome this problem of depleting ground water table, ground water recharge becomes a 'Must to Do' activity and draws attention of everyone. Out of several schemes available for ground water recharge, direct recharge through Rain Water Harvesting Pit is very effective and useful provided pits are constructed in area getting good quantity of rain water. We have selected site near by rain fed nallah where in rain water of 12-15 villages flows and finally goes into a river. A portion of this water is used to recharge ground through rain water harvesting pits. Alternatively, site is selected on pond and RWH pit is constructed in such a way that recharge happens only after pond water rises to certain level. The pit is very simple in construction and costs only Rs 1,00,000/-. This pit of size 8'x8'x6' (depth) can recharge 1 crore litres of rain water in a year. The filter media consists of broken bricks/sold bricks/plastic drums (bottom layer), stone grits (middle layer) and coarse sand (top layer) which prevents mud/silt entering into earth and pvc pipe (4" dia) takes water as deep as 100-120 feet in to straita/acqifer.

Water Conservation-Rejuvenation/Development of pond

Recently NGO has undertaken very important  work of rejuvenation/develpoment of ponds in Uttar pradesh. This has increased holding capacity as well as recharge capacity of pond. The recharge rate increases when the old bottom surface of pond is removed. One pond of 12 acre size have been rejuvenated with joint efforts of Naam Foundation, Jaidevi Rajaram Charity Foundation and Kauru panchayat pradhan with its dedicated team of villagers. This has led to increase in recharge many fold and thereby chances of flood in that area has also got mitigated. Now, it is expected to recharge 10 crore litres ground water in fy which will improve water table significantly. Similarly other two ponds will also have impact on ground water recharge.

Computer Literacy among students in rural India

in rural India, particularly in Uttar Pradesh, students studying in schools/colleges in villages, are not imparted computer taining as this is not in sylabus of Borad examinations. Moreover such needy boys/girls have to go to nearby town/city to learn computer operation. Keeping in view, the need and importance of computer education, hardship of travel and cost of computer classes etc, we have taken initiatives to set up computer centres at village itself with no fee or very minimal charges. The students are trained in computer basics, ms office, english typing, excel, paint and power point presentation etc. Presently we are operationg Six computer centres and planned to scale up to 10 (ten) in this financial year.

Providing financial support to poor/underprivileged students

In India there are many cases of students mainly girls dropping out at 10th or 12th level of schooling since their parents could not afford schooling due to their financial weakness.  In order to fulfil the aspiration of every child with 'Empower children through education' we started supporting such students mainly girls belonging to underprivileged society. In the scheme, annual tution fee of such students is paid to college adminstration directly to enable them to persue their eductaion and become self reliant.

Afforestation

Afforestation is a activity to fight against  climate change/global warming. Forests attract rain, it helps to slow down global warming by reducing Carbon di Oxide gas in the atmosphere and introducing more Oxygen. Afforestaion helps in increasing the soil quality and organic carbon levels in the soil and protects the biodiversity of plants and animals. A drive was launched to motivate and make villagers aware of plantation. The Foundation organised distribution of  saplings of Mahogany plants, which gives good income  after 12-15 years as well as does not endanger soil.

Other activities including carbon credit awareness programmes for farmers

In view to provide a good place to perform Yoga, a senior citizen park in village Bijauli in district Fatehpur of Uttar Pradesh was developed with a concrete platform in the middle and different types of flower plants in the perifery. Moreover, the following activites are also envisaged by the Foundation: Organising health check up camps; promote skill development to boost income in villages; women empowerment; improving the living conditions of old aged people; promoting rural sports; setting up public litrary;  any other activity related with rural development.

NGO held a awareness compaign meeting in July 2025 regarding carbon cedit which can benefit farmers. There is huge potential in this area to be exploited by the farmers. Ngo will be facilitating all required inputs to the farmers.
